The Woodlands is in the process of widening Kuykendahl Street where it meets Research Forest in order to help the traffic flow in the area. Ever since Kuykendahl was put through between Lake Woodlands and Research more and more Woodlands residents are using the super-fast alternate route to get from the north side of The Woodlands to the south.
Even though I can’t get anyone to make a firm statement on the facts, I have heard that there are plans to make Kuykendahl go through to the north all the way to FM 1488. That would really be a boon to commuters who need to get to FM 1488 because now the only way to access it is off I-45 or FM 242.
The Magnolia area is growing so rapidly that if anything goes wrong at all, like a traffic light malfunction or a minor fender bender, traffic can really stack up on FM 242 at FM 1488. It’s going to be nice to have an alternate to cut over to one of The Woodlands main arteries like Research Forest or Woodlands Parkway.
More on developmetns as they become available.
